Lisey Good

Lisey Good, President, has been an active dog care volunteer for the Shelter since 2013 and joined the Board in 2015, where she now serves as President and Chair of the Communications and Marketing Committee. Her animal volunteer experience includes work with dogs, chimps, monkeys, seals and sea lions, and a recent stint manning a canine and feline behavior hotline for the Animal Rescue League of Boston. Stacey Weaver

Stacey Weaver, Vice President,  began volunteering at the Scituate AnimalShelter after retirement from the investment business in 2000. A longtime cat owner and currently the mother of two rescued cats, she was impressed by the Shelter’s mission to help both animals and people, its success in finding homes and the hard work and positive attitude of the staff and volunteers.  She worked on the capital campaign to build the new facility that opened in 2009, and currently is a member of the Finance and Audit and Strategic Planning Committees. For the past 27 years, she has lived in Cohasset with her cat-loving husband, John Beck. One of her goals for the Shelter is to help achieve financial sustainability, and her dearest wish is to see every animal warm and cozy, well-fed and cherished by loving humans.

Tom Poppey with Stewey

Thomas Poppey, Treasurer, has been a supporter of the Scituate Animal Shelter for many years and joined the Board of Directors in 2013. Tom is now serving his first Term as Treasurer and also serves as Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee. Tom recently served as President of the Board. Tom is employed at Brown Brothers Harriman as Senior Vice President and resides in Cohasset with his wife, Elissa, and their two dogs and four cats, including Hemingway and Stewie, both Shelter alums. Karen McKenna with Guinness and Marina

Karen McKenna, Clerk, has been volunteering at the Shelter since 2002 as a dog and cat care provider, adoption counselor and customer care representative.  She former served as Treasurer of the Board for 5 years and and is now serving as Clerk.  Karen is also a member of the Board’s Finance and Audit Committee, the Strategic Planning Committee, and the HR and Nominating Committee. Karen was born and raised in Scituate and currently resides there with 4 cats (Dory, Noah, Caleb and Ozzie) and 2 dogs (Marina and Guinness), all adopted from the Shelter.  Karen can be reached karenmckenna@scituateanimalshelter.org or through the Shelter.

Beth Begin with Rory

Beth Begin, Officer, has been a volunteer at the Scituate Animal Shelter since 2009 as a dog walker and adoption counselor.  Beth is a member of the Communications Committee, the Canine Committee and the Canine Training Team.  Beth is the mother of two grown sons and the grandmother to a beautiful little girl. Beth is a long time resident of Norwell sharing her home and life with two dogs, Faith and Rory.

Diane Esslinger

Diane Esslinger, Officer, spent over 35 years in law firm administration as executive director and director of human resources at two Boston law firms.  Now retired, she is pursuing her interests in travel, gardening, birding and other outdoor activities. A resident of Cohasset, she is active with North River Arts Society, Massachusetts Audubon and The Trustees.  She first volunteered at the Scituate Animal Shelter in the mid-90s and has been a long-time supporter of the organization.  Diane is currently serving on the HR and Nominating Committee.  Over the years she has been adopted by a number of both sheltered and feral kitties, each of whom has added much to her quality of life.

David Honeycutt

David Honeycutt, Officer, with a degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management, David worked for many years for Hilton and Hyatt Hotels before making a career change in 1995 to open Charles David Salon with partner Charles Dudley.  Charles as Color Director and David as General Manager together have grown Charles David Salons & Spas now employing over 100 beauty professionals with 3 locations including Hanover, Plymouth and The Pinehills.  While best known for beautiful hair coloring and styling, community involvement and “giving back” to many charities across the South Shore has always been the heart and passion of Charles David.  David currently serves on the Fundraising Committee.

Jimmy Karas with Winston

Jimmy Karas, Officer, joined the Board of Directors in 2017 and also serves on the shelters fundraising committee.  He is employed at Boston Private Wealth, is a member of the New England Broker Dealer/Investment Adviser Association, and resides in West Bridgewater with his wife Jackie and two rescue dogs, Winston and Roxie.

Maria Kennedy with Maverick and Holly

Maria KennedyOfficer, a long time supporter of the Scituate Animal Shelter, has been a volunteer dog walker since March 2017 and joined the Board of Directors in November 2017. Parents of two grown sons, Maria and her husband live in Cohasset with their two rescue dogs, Holly and Maverick.

Pam Price with Brody

Pamela Price, Officer, is an award-winning photojournalist that has been shooting for over 30 years.  Her photos have appeared in all the major news magazines including Time and Newsweek. After attending Emerson College, she started working for United Press International and then went on to become a staff photographer for the Providence Journal. Pamela covered the White House and Capitol Hill for 12 years while living in Washington DC.  Since moving to the south shore of Boston, she has been concentrating on covering weddings. Pamela lives in Marshfield with her husband Larry Carpman and their dog Brody.  Their sons Max and Zac also live on the south shore.

Deb Squires-Lee with Marshall Mathers

Debra Squires-Lee, Officer, is a litigation partner at the law firm of Sherin and Lodgen in Boston and joined the Board of Directors in 2014.  Debra has always been active in the community including serving on the Board of Trustees of Old Ship Church and Wilder Memorial Nursery School, and she is also a member of the Massachusetts Board of Bar Examiners. Debra lives in Hingham with her husband, three children, 8-yr old Beagle, and four cats including three fostered and adopted from the Shelter – Sherlock Holmes, Samwise Gamgee, and Silica Stone.

Bob Ryan

Bob Ryan, Officer, is an author and sportswriter who worked for the Boston Globe for over 40 years.  He retired from the Globe in 2012 and became interested in the Shelter through his wife’s volunteer efforts there, so he joined the Board of Directors in 2015.  Bob is the current national Board Chairman of the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association, and is past president of the United States Basketball Writers Association and the NBA Writers Association.  On the Shelter Board, Bob serves on our Communications and Marketing Committee, where his writing experience is invaluable.
