Meet Amy DeLibero- Our 2018 Boston Marathon Runner
We’re running the 2018 Boston Marathon!
The Scituate Animal Shelter has received a “bib” number for the prestigious race, and is pleased to announce that a local animal lover will run on our behalf, raising funds and awareness for our shelter pets and animal welfare programs.
Lifelong Scituate resident Amy DeLibero, who works at Scituate Harbor’s TKO Malley’s Sports Café, will lace up her sneakers on April 16th for the grueling 26.2-mile competition, which will mark her 8th marathon run for charity. Amy, a lifelong animal lover and mom to an 11-year-old Westie named Lily, formerly volunteered for SAS, and says simply “I am thrilled to be running for The Scituate Animal Shelter.”
Training is going well so far, and Amy reports that even though it is cold, she prefers outdoor running: “The treadmill gets boring.” A true New Englander! Amy’s targets are not all fitness-related. She has set an ambitious goal to raise $15,000 for SAS’s animals. Will you help this amazing and motivated woman reach her goal by donating today?
Join us in thanking Amy for her efforts and stay tuned for some fun events to help her effort.
