Monday-Thursday 10 am - 8 pm or Friday-Saturday 10 am - 5 pm
Paul Pratt Memorial Library, 35 Ripley Road, Cohasset MA
This exhibition is sponsored by the Scituate Animal Shelter and is the result of a contest that asked artists to submit portraits of animals in any medium. The submissions were judged in three age groups: 9 and under, 10 to 13 and 14 to 18 with first, second and third prizes awarded.
Local artist and well-known animal portraitist Nate Nottingham selected a grand prize winner, 2nd prize winner and 3rd prize winner in each age group. The exhibition was curated by Gretchen Pingel who also provided the notes to accompany the works. Ms. Pingel is an art historian living in Bronxville, NY. She worked as a specialist at Sotheby's Fine Arts in NY, and for the past decade has led Medieval European Art Tours for the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Cloisters Museum.
